F5J-formula 15 (rules)

F5J - Formula 15
(rules for 2005)

Definition:
- Radio controlled, electric powered model sailplanes
- The motor run time is not limited (and not measured).
- Only NiCd or NiMH batteries allowed.

Event class:
- 400 Sailplane
- 7 cell Sailplane
- Other (not limited) Sailplane

Flight task:
- Working time for each round is 15 minutes.
- Competitor will be flown two flights in each round.
- First gliding time must be no longer as 7 minutes.
- Second gliding time is not limited, but must end to the end of 15th minute of working time.
- Spot landing bonus only after second flight .
- Both starts must begin from assigned landing point.
- Measured time of first gliding will started if competitor stopped the motor run.
- Measured time of first gliding is stoped if the model come down or in 7th minute gliding time ended.
- Replacement of batteries after first flight is restricted.
- Measured time of second gliding will started if competitor stopped the motor run.
- Measured time of second gliding is stoped if the model land or if 15th minute of working time ended.
- If working time ended then landing is not measured.
- If model hits the pilot or helper on landing or fall over, then landing is not measured.
- Any model still in motion over 1 minute past the working time will receive a zero score in the round.

- A minimum of three rounds will be flown for each class.

Scoring:

- One point awarded per each second of flight.
- Landing points will be added to the flight time points according to attached tables

Count of all round scoring to determine the winners.

Notes:
It is valid for „net-competitions“
For other event is necessary apply relevant point from F3J rules (normalized group scoring, etc.)

F5J formula 15 ...................... step by step >>>

Here is right interpretation of the rules:

You have 7 time segments during 15 minutes of working time (this time is measured !)

1/ from start of working time to start of your model - mising time (typical 0-2 seconds, but not measured)
2/ from start of first climb to end of motor run (typical 10- 50 seconds, but not measured)
3/ from the begin of first gliding to landing, or to end of 7 minute (typical 60-420 seconds - measured)
....This time can´t be longer as 7 minutes, max. points = 420

4/ from first landing to second start - mising time (typical 1-5 seconds, but not measured)
5/ from start of second climb to end of motor run (typical 10- 50 seconds, but not measured)
6/ from the begin of second gliding to landing, or to end of 15 minute (typical 60 or more seconds - measured !)
7/ from secon landing to end of working time - missing time - not measured (typical 5-0 seconds)

And if you land before end of working time, you can add poits for precise second landing - measured
