Short review from Charalampos Parastatidis:
At May 17-th 2009 we made the first F5J- GR race at Thessaloniki
with the use of an altimeter (ALTMR1), which was created,
by Basilis Papadopoulos (one member of our club at Thessaloniki
and friend of mine). This ALTMR1 stops the motor at 200m high
or (if you don't gain the 200m), at 30sec of motor run. After
the motor cut of, there is no possibility to restart the motor.
So the competitor must have the appropriate set up for gain
200m into 30sec and than searching for the thermal to stay
10 min on the sky.
The race was very successful and all the competitors
were very enthusiasts with the operation of ALTMR1

Sedemnásteho mája sme mali prvú F5J-GR súťaž s výškomermi
ALTMR1 v Tessalonikách. Výškový spínač skonštruoval Basilis
Papdopoulos (člen nášho klubu a môj priateľ). Tento ALTMR1
zastaví motor vo výške 200 m alebo ( keď model ešte nedosiahol
200 m), po 30 sekundách chodu motora. Po vypnutí motora už
tento nemožno reštartovať. Súťažiaci teda musí využiť termiku,
aby zostal vo vzduchu po dobu 10 minút.
Súťaž mala u súťažiacich úspech a všetci sú nadšení tým, ako
ALMR1 funguje.
